Supplementary chargesheet against Abu Salem filed

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Police on Tuesday filed supplementary chargesheet against underworld don Abu Salem before a local court in a fake passport case.
The Crime Branch produced the chargesheet before Chief Judicial Magistrate Ajay Shrivastava this afternoon, when the stipulated period of 90 days for its production ended.
The prosecution also produced a list of nearly 10 fresh witnesses to support their case.
Judge Shrivastava had fixed tomorrow for the next hearing into the case.
Salem, who along with his companion and former Bollywood actress Monica Bedi was extradited from Portugal, was charged with procuring passports through forged documents in 2001.
The passports were allegedly procured for Salem, his wife Sameera Jumani and Monica in the names of Danish Baig, Sameena Baig and Faujia Usmani, respectively.
The court had earlier acquitted Monica in the case.
