Sunburn faces right wing ire

MUMBAI: Sunburn, the electronic dance festival that was to be held in Pune from Wednesday till December 31, is now at the centre of controversy after right wing groups have objected to the festival being held in the state.

Sanathan Sanstha that has been allegedly involved in the murders of rationalists like Narendra Dabholkar and Govind Pansare has been opposed to the event as it claims that it promotes ‘obscenity and drugs’ and is against ‘Indian culture’.

Now Shiv Sena also jumped into the bandwagon and has warned that it ‘won’t allow the music festival to take place’.
