Suicide by farmer in Delhi is 'unfortunate': Parkash Singh Badal

LUDHIANA: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today described the suicide by a farmer at an AAP rally in Delhi as "unfortunate and shocking".

He demanded a through investigation into the incident by an appropriate agency and said the circumstances that prompted the farmer to end his life be ascertained.

On the ongoing procurement of Wheat, he said his government was committed to lift the entire wheat crop from mandis at the prevalent Minimum Support Price.

He said farmers would not be allowed to suffer on the account of the value cut imposed by the Centre.
