A suspected suicide blast hit a bus in the Pakistani garrison city of Rawalpindi on Monday, with state television reporting at least three people were killed.

ISLAMABAD: A suspected suicide blast hit a bus in the Pakistani garrison city of Rawalpindi on Monday, police said, with state television reporting at least three people were killed.

"I am on the spot now, it appears to be a suicide blast. There are some casualties but we are not sure how many as they have been shifted to hospital," city police chief Saud Aziz said.

The explosion happened in the city's busy R.A. Bazaar area, near the Pakistani army headquarters, he said.
