SUCI-C fields Tapan Dasgupta against Modi on Vadodara Lok Sabha seat
The Socialist Unity Centre of India-Communist (SUCI-C), has decided to field Tapan Dasgupta against Narendra Modi from Vadodara seat.

"We have decided to field Tapan Dasgupta, our activist from Vadodara seat against Chief Minister Modi," SUCI-C Secretary Dwariknath Rath said.
This will be Dasgupta's third Lok Sabha election, as he earlier contested from Vadodara in 2004 and 2005. However, he managed to acquire only 5000-odd votes in previous election.
According Rath, the Gujarat model of development is a well planted myth by Modi.
"Such development is only helping large corporates, not the poor and needy. Modi never talks about problems faced by people, such as poverty, inflation, water shortage and shoddy road work," said Rath.
SUCI-C member Bhavik Raja claimed that Dasgupta has been associated with several social activities for last 20 years.
"We believe in political activism. Dasgupta is a full time activist based in Vadodara. The party will meet the locals and make them aware about the real issues of the constituency, such as shortage of drinking water, corruption, inflation, bad governance in M S University and collapse of two buildings in Atladara due to shoddy construction work," said Raja.
"Victory or defeat is not an issue for us. Our prime focus is to open people's eyes through our political activism," said Rath.
