Subramanian Swamy demands SIT to re-investigate Deen Dayal Upadhyay's death
NEW DELHI: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy today demanded setting up a multi-disciplinary special investigating team to re-investigate the "conspiracy" behind the mysterious death of Jan Sangh founder Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

In a press release, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should direct the setting up of Special Investigation Team (SIT) as he described the probe by the CBI as a "cover-up".

He said close associates of Upadhyay such as Nanaji Deshmnukh and Dattpant Thengadi never accepted the findings of the CBI that he was pushed out of the train by robbers.

Upadhyay's body was found on the railway tracks near Mughalsarai junction in Uttar Pradesh on February 11, 1968.
