Subbarao, Reddy, Gokarn are the only names that come to mind

Former RBI governors YV Reddy, D Subbarao and former deputy RBI governor Subir Gokarn seem to have brought some cheers to the Modi government. A top BJP minister could reel out only these three names to a query that no economist worth standing has lent his support to demonetisation move.



White money campaign
I&B Minister Venkaiah Naidu’s granddaughter Sushma has decided to do her small bit against black money. She has started a social media campaign — ‘wear white to support white (money)’ and ‘say no to black money’. With Naidu in his traditional white, she took a picture with him in white to lend weight to her social media campaign.



A classical singer bureaucrat
Authors and poets are common among civil servants. But bureaucrats-cum-singers are a rare combination. The young aide to Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar has this unique weave. PS Kashish Mittal, the private secretary who recently joined the MoS, is an accomplished Indian classical singer and his renditions also feature on You Tube. Mittal is an IAS and currently on deputation to the ministry of external affairs.



Didi’s hums and cries
Mamata is known for her eloquence and sharp comments, delivered mostly in a tone that is known as the ‘Mamata way’ of doing things. At the protest rally against currency recall on Monday, Mamata’s cries of ‘tanasahi nehi chalega’ sounded similar to the calls and hums of Azadi that flooded JNU’s corridors a few months back.
