Sub-quota row a closed chapter now: Salman Khurshid

In the eye of a storm over his Muslim sub-quota remarks and the subsequent face-off with the EC, Khurshid said the matter was a closed chapter now.

FARUKHABAD (UP): In the eye of a storm over his Muslim sub-quota remarks and the subsequent face-off with the Election Commission, Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid today said the matter was a closed chapter now.

"This chapter is closed now," Khurshid told mediapersons who sought his reaction on the row.

Khurshid along with Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit is here to attend an election meeting in support of his wife Louis Khurshid who is contesting the UP assembly election from Farukhabad.

Earlier in the day, the Election Commission said it was yet to take a decision on Khurshid's letter regretting his remarks.

In a letter to the EC late last night, the Minister said said he "bows to the wisdom of the EC" and has given his personal commitment to ensure that such a situation will not arise again.
