Students hold protest in Mumbai over FTII issue
MUMBAI: Extending support to agitating students of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune, several students today staged a protest outside Mumbai University's suburban Kalina campus here.

Students shouted slogans against BJP member and TV actor Gajendra Chauhan, who has been appointed as the chairman of the institute, and against the "wrong policies of the government" in the protest, held outside the main entrance of Mumbai University campus.

"Education has been degraded due to the obstinate ways of the government," the students, who displayed placards against the BJP-led government at the Centre, said.

"Staging protest is our birthright. The FTII students did not indulge in any violence but have been punished for no fault of theirs," a student said.
