MUZAFFARNAGAR: Scores of MBBS students today clashed with police who tried to stop them from protesting against the college's decision not to promote 65 out of 111 students in the third year examination, police said today.

The students pelted stones on the police when they tried to evict them from the premises of Muzaffarnagar Medical College and also indulged in breaking window panes of the classrooms, they said.

The protest started yesterday after the results of third year examination were declared and in which 65 out of 111 students had failed, police said.

The situation came under control following increased deployment of police force.

Medical college sources said that the examination results were declared by the Meerut University in which only 41 students had managed to pass.
