NEW DELHI: BJP today blamed Arvind Kejriwal's "dictatorial" behaviour for the current turmoil in Delhi and said his turf war with Lt Governor Najeeb Jung was heading to a constitutional crisis while Congress asked him to stop politics of opposition and resort to politics of solution.

"It is a totally disgraceful act by the chief minister. I think Mr Kejriwal is frustrated a lot and he is incompetent to run a government so he has locked the room of a senior official and without any reason," Vijender Gupta, BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly.

He was referring to the incident of locking of the office of Principal Secretary (Services) Anindo Majumdar, who had issued an order notifying the appointment of Shakuntala Gamlin as acting chief secretary following instructions from Jung.

Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay said that the ongoing turmoil was heading to a constitutional crisis and Kejriwal's "dictatorial" behaviour is to be blamed for the current mess.

Majumdar was removed from the post by Kejriwal on Saturday after he issued the appointment letter to Gamlin. The LG had declared the order to transfer Majumdar "void" saying it did not have his approval.

"They must follow certain constitutional procedures, constitutional limitations, but they do not follow it. They don't believe in democracy.

"The politics of conflict they do is according to some design. They want to address a certain kind of audience and do all these things with calculation. The kind of demoralisation of democracy is not good for the people of Delhi. The Delhi people want good governance, but here there is no governance," Upadhyay said.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chairman Ajay Maken said Kejriwal should understand that Delhi being a different case with multiple agencies, he cannot continue the politics of opposition.

"Kejriwal should not resort to politics of opposition. His mentality of the politics of opposition will not work for long. He should indulge in politics of seeking solution," he said.
