State leaders meet Amit Shah, JP before July 31 Finance Bill deadline

The Karnataka assembly needs to pass the finance bill before July 31. Hence, a government formation should happen before July 31 so that a session could be convened for passing the bill.

The Speaker had said: “As soon as the government is formed and whenever those forming the government say the assembly should be convened, within 48 hours we will call a session.”
New Delhi: Karnataka BJP leaders on Thursday met party chief Amit Shah and working president JP Nadda in the Capital, apprising them of the situation in the state and awaiting instructions from the leadership for the future course of action.

The Karnataka assembly needs to pass the finance bill before July 31. Hence, a government formation should happen before July 31 so that a session could be convened for passing the bill. A delegation of state BJP leaders had met Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar on Wednesday to discuss the bill.

The Speaker had said: “As soon as the government is formed and whenever those forming the government say the assembly should be convened, within 48 hours we will call a session.”


Meanwhile, BJP’s Karnataka incharge P Muralidhar Rao said “before approaching the governor, we will have our own meetings”, adding the party was sure of forming the government.

“We will wait for their (Shah and Nadda) instructions,” former CM Jagdish Shettar said after the meeting in Delhi.
