State government stops opposition from entering Baduria
KOLKATA: Mamata Banerjee's government on Friday prevented all the three opposition parties — BJP, CPIM and Congress — from entering Baduria in North 24-Parganas district where tension prevailed for the last five days following clashes between two groups of people.

Huge police deployment was made in all the entry points to Baduria and three BJP leaders including party MP Roopa Ganguly were arrested as they tried to enter Baduria by violating the prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPc.

All the three opposition parties refused to pay heed to the CM’s appeal not to enter Baduria. The CM also urged these parties to co-operate with her government to bring back peace and normalcy in the region.
