Srinagar MP Aga Ruhullah Mehdi taunts J&K Police, asks if pro-Iran tweet will trigger ‘third FIR’

National Conference Lok Sabha member from Srinagar Aga Ruhullah Mehdi took a jibe at Jammu and Kashmir police asking them whether his statements in support of Iran and against Israel and US warrant yet another FIR against him.

The J&K Police has filed two FIRs against the Lok Sabha member since the US and Israel jointly attacked Iran and killed it's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

"People of the world...Iran is fighting a defensive and decisive war for the just cause against this Zionist Imperialist regime and their arrogant partner in crime, the Epstein regime in America," Mehdi wrote in response to a statement of Israel Prime Minister on X.


The Lok Sabha member said that this was a "once in a lifetime opportunity to stand united on the side of justice and the oppressed."

The ruling NC leader said that "together with mutilated, sacrificed and man eaten daughters on Epstein Island, the oppressed and massacred people of Gaza (Palestine), Lebanon and Iran we stand and pray for the end of this colonial, genocidal Zionist regime." Mehdi then put a line for the police saying, "J&K Police- does this tweet qualify for a 3rd FIR against me?" "Happy FIRing," Mehdi wrote.

Earlier, cyber police station of the J&K police registered an FIR on March 3, 2026 against Mehdi and former Srinagar mayor Junaid Mattu for allegedly "circulating misleading content online." The case was registered when Mehdi and others shared a video of a female protestor seen thrashed by a policeman during one of the pro-Iran protests in Kashmir. Second FIR has been filed by Budgam police, on March 6, 2026 for allegedly making an "inflammatory speech" during another Pro-Iran protest.
