Srikkanth replaces Vengsarkar as BCCI selection committee chairman.

NEW DELHI: Former India skipper Krishnamachari Srikkanth replaces Dilip Vengsarkar as the new chairman of the BCCI selection committee according to Times Now news channel.

The formal announcement will be made at the BCCI's Annual General Meeting in Mumbai on Saturday. The other members of the BCCI selection committee who will replace the existing team are Yashpal Sharma (North), Narender Hirwani (Central), Raja Venkat (East) and Surinder Bhave (West).

From now on, the selectors will be paid Rs 25 lakh per annum. It was also revealed that some of the shortlisted candidates who are contractually engaged with news channels are willing to quit their television jobs.

Srikkanth is making more or less the same amount from his TV job, which the BCCI is offering him. The selector's job is certainly more prestigious. Incidentally, Vengsarkar was the man who fought for the selectors to be paid.
