Special summary revision of electoral rolls in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission has announced a special summary revision of electoral rolls in 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi with January 1, 2014 being the qualifying date.

The Delhi's Election Commission has directed all the nine District Election Officers and other concerned officials to implement the EC's directions as per the schedule announced by it in this regard.

According the schedule, the final publication of roll will be done on January 21, 2014, while electors can file their claims and objections between December 16 and December 31. The ECI has directed the officials to dispose all the claims and objections by January 10.

Reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in Grama Sabha/Local Bodies and RWA meeting and verification of names are scheduled for December 22 and December 29.

All those who are 18 years on January 1, 2014 are eligible to submit applications for inclusion of their names in the electoral roll.
