Judge Jagdeep Singh, who sentenced Ram Rahim, gets Z+ security cover
The special CBI court judge, Jagdeep Singh, who sentenced Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to 20 years of "rigorous imprisonment", 10 years each for the rape of two disciples, has been given Z+ security cover, according to reports.

The judge and his family members reportedly received threats after the conviction of the Dera head, which prompted the government to extend his security cover to the highest level.

On August 28, the Dera head was found guilty of rape on two counts and sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment.

In light of the unrest and the riots that broke out on August 25, after the Dera head was arrested and taken to a jail in R0htak, the special CBI court judge was flown to the Rohtak jail for the sentencing.

What is Z+ security?
In India, many people, depending on the level of threat they face, are given security by the police and the local government. There are four levels, out of which Z+ is the highest security blanket.
