The special court which hears cases related to elected representatives, accepted the closure report (B report) filed by the Lokayukta in February last year. The report cited lack of evidence to support the allegations.
The Lokayukta Police in Mysuru registered an FIR against Siddaramaiah in September 2024 in connection with the allotment of housing plots, naming the CM as the first accused, wife Parvathy and brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy in the case involving allotment of 14 plots to CM’s wife by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
The FIR followed orders from a Bengaluru court on a complaint from activist Snehamayi Krishna. The CM, in November 2024, appeared before the Lokayukta police in Mysuru and responded to queries.
The CM’s wife returned the plots allotted by MUDA in Vijayanagar III & IV stage in Mysuru in exchange for 3.16 acres of her land in Kesare village. She returned them on her own after allegations swirled around the family and the police registered an FIR.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED), probing the unlawful allotment of plots by MUDa in Mysuru, has so far attached plots worth about Rs 400 crore.
