Speaker threatens to adjourn Lok Sabha sine die
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said though she was “duty-bound” to take-up the no-confidence motions, she can’t do it when “the House is not in order”.

As soon as the House assembled at 11 am, AIADMK MPs again trooped into the Well, raising slogans for setting up a Cauvery tribunal. Many Opposition members stood up near their seats and demanded the admission of their no-confidence motions.
Looking at the protesting AIADMK MPs and others, Mahajan said: “You are wasting everyone’s time. All MPs are saying they want the House to run... Or I will have to adjourn the House sine die.” Soon after she adjourned the House till 12 noon.
When House reassembled, the protest continued and the Speaker turned towards parliamentary affairs minister Ananth kumar who blamed Congress and other Opposition MPs for the stand-off. Congress’ Mallikarjun Kharge blamed the government for the stalemate.
