Speaker, Oppn may call it truce

The stand-off between the Opposition and Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee was headed for a peaceful resolution after the two sides poured their hearts out at meeting held here.

While the Speaker, who met Leader of the Opposition Lok Sabha L K Advani and his deputy V K Malhotra, tried to mollify them, the BJP duo, on the other hand, gave full vent to their feelings, complaining that the crucial business was being transacted when the House was in turmoil.
