BHOPAL: Ahead of the next year's Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, six political parties led by Samajwadi Party are in talks to form a Third Front kind of an alternative to the ruling BJP and main opposition Congress.

A meeting to this effect was held here on Friday at the behest of SP. CPI(M), CPI, Rashtriya Samanta Dal, Bharatiya Gondwana Party and Janata Dal(S) were represented at the meeting.

State Samajwadi Party unit president Gauri Yadav told PTI that all the parties at the meeting decided to expose the shortcomings of the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh.

He said the state government was following anti-farmers' policies, the roads were in a bad shape and the law and order situation was going from bad to worse. The people of the state are fed up with both Congress and the BJP and hence attempts must be made to former a Third Front government, Yadav said.
