SP, BSP & RJD bring the numbers for govt

NEW DELHI: The fervent wish of SP, BSP and RJD to be part of the ruling coalition at the Centre has been accepted.

Claiming support of 322 members of the Lok Sabha, PM Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday met President Pratibha Patil to stake claim on forming the government.

The PM said, ���We have 274 members who are part of the Congress and pre-poll allies also including Independents. We have support of SP, BSP, RJD and other parties which adds up to 48. The total comes to 322.���
