South Asian women advocates conference in Bangalore

A South Asian women advocates' conference is being organised in October and will be attended by women advocates and judges, women IPS officers and members of parliament from South Asian countries.

MOGA: A South Asian women advocates' conference is being organised in October and will be attended by women advocates and judges, women IPS officers and members of parliament from South Asian countries.

Chief Justice of India Justice K G Balakrishnan will inaugurate the conference which is being held in Bangalore from 8-10 October, said Satya Paul, General Secretary, South Asian fraternity.

The conference will discuss issues like the role of women in law making and implementation, professional development of women advocates and women in police custody and jails.

Paul said the conference will specifically discuss the increasing trend of sexual abuse and violence against women at home, in the work place and in public places.
