Sonia, Pranab leading with substantial margins

NEW DELHI: Sonia Gandhi, Varun Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee and Pranab Mukherjee are all leading by substantial margins in their respective constituencies, according to the Election Commission.

While Varun was leading by 39,326 votes in his Pilibhit constituency, Sonia was ahead in Rae Bareilly by 29,927 votes.

Sachin Pilot from Ajmer seat was leading by 38,120 votes and Pranab Mukherjee and Mamata Banerjee were ahead with 13,777 and 16,658 votes respectively, the poll body said.

Among the other prominent candidates who were leading with a good margin included Rahul Gandhi with 12,916 votes.

According to the Commission, Maneka Gandhi was trailing in Anola by over 2000 votes.
