Sonia Gandhi to skip Imam Bukhari son’s anointment
Congress chief Sonia Gandhi will not attend the anointment ceremony of the son of Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the shahi imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid.

A Congress spokesman said there was no information about the invite for next month's ceremony but the party chief would not attend even if invited.
The curt response comes in the wake of the controversy generated by Bukhari's announcement that he would not invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi but had extended the invite to Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif.
It marks a change in Congress attitude towards Bukhari who triggered a political row during the Lok Sabha elections when he visited Sonia and then issued a public appeal that Muslims should vote for the Congress.
Later, Congress had to clarify that it had not invited Bukhari and it was the latter who sought an appointment with the party chief. The BJP drummed up the issue in the election campaign.
