This was informed by solicitor general Tushar Mehta to a bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Friday. Mehta said "something constructive is happening" and sought more time. The development took place during the resumed hearing of a petition filed by Chadha, challenging his indefinite suspension from the Rajya Sabha.
At the last hearing, the court had asked AAP MP Raghav Chadha to meet Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and tender an unconditional apology as a "way forward" to end his suspension from the House.
The court had also taken note of Chadha's submission that he was willing to apologise to Dhankhar.
The bench had suggested that Chadha's apology be considered "sympathetically" by the chairperson.
Chadha has been under suspension since August 11 after some MPs, mostly from the ruling BJP, accused him of adding their names to a motion without their consent. The motion sought the constitution of a select committee to examine the contentious Delhi Services Bill.
