Solution to Telangana only after wider consultations: Moily

HUBLI: A solution to the Telangana issue could be found only after wider consultations among all political parties in Andhra Pradesh and also at the national level, Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily said today.

The Centre would soon begin the process of consultation, he told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

He said opposition parties like Telugu Desam and Praja Rajyam have been opposing division of Andhra Pradesh.

Moily's statement comes in the wake of rallies and demonstrations being held across Andhra Pradesh today for the fourth consecutive day in support of Telangana state and the Telugu Desam leaders from the region agreeing to join the Joint Action Committee spearheading the Telangana agitation.

Besides, Ministers from the Telangana region, who have sent their resignations to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, have landed in New Delhi to hold talks with the leadership. They have demanded that the Centre set a "time-frame" for the formation of a separate state.

On the controversy surrounding Karnataka High Court Chief Justice P D Dinakaran, Moily said the allegations of land grabbing against the judge were yet to be proved.
