Solar scam: Kerala CM Oommen Chandy denies charges
The CPI(M)-led opposition targeted Chandy and demanded a probe into allegations as they stepped up their protest over the issue, creating uproar in the House.

Rejecting the charges that he had an intimate relationship with the solar scam accused Saritha Nair, Oommen Chandy said on Thursday that he would survive all attempts to oust him from office through blackmail.
He said he will be remembered as a CM who faced major hardships for trying to enforce justice before leaving the office. Speaking inside the assembly he said that his clear conscience was his strength. Chandy declared that he had not done anything wrong. Chandy said all the others alleged to be involved in the sex scandal were innocent. There are 58 cases against Biju Radhakrishnan.
The chief minister said it was his government that arrested Biju Radhakrishnan in a murder case and proved it. He, however, refused to divulge the details of his meeting with Biju Radhakrishnan. He said he was not revealing it to all in the name of decency.
He added that Biju Radhakrishnan’s allegation is the attempt of a murder accused to escape. Not satisfied with the answer of the chief minister, the opposition members moved to the well of the House to voice their protest. Opposition leader VS Achuthanandan said the entire state is ashamed to hear the charges against the chief minister. He said he hoped the allegations against the CM were not true.
