Software engineer strangles wife, commits suicide in Bangalore

A software engineer from Delhi employed by Infosys allegedly strangulated his wife with a pillow suspecting her to be having an affair with one of her colleagues and then committed suicide by hanging himself.

BANGALORE: A software engineer from Delhi employed by Infosys allegedly strangulated his wife with a pillow suspecting her to be having an affair with one of her colleagues and then committed suicide by hanging himself.

Amit Budhiraj, 30, strangled his wife, Rinku Sachdeva, because he suspected she was having an affair, said police.

Police suspect the murder of Rinku was committed between 6 and 7 pm on Saturday.

Amit was from Delhi and Rinku, who worked in a bank, was from Mumbai.

The murder came to light on Sunday when Rinku's friend came home to pick her up to go for a movie, police said.

Amit left a note saying he had heard about the affair of his wife. The couple had been married for almost a year, said police.
