Practice social distancing for national good, says Mohan Bhagwat

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat said it is time to enforce social distancing as much as possible to reduce to spread of Covid-19 and urged members of the organisation to help implement the national lockdown ordered by the government.

“The Hindu new year is beginning at a time when the whole world is battling a pandemic and India is doing the same. This is the time to strengthen that resolve,” Bhagwat said on Wednesday, in an address largely meant for members of the organisation. “Sometimes you may feel frustrated that you are not meeting people given that the work of the RSS is largely community-centric. But you must remember that the main principle is to promote human values and ideals... At this time, social distancing is important for the interest of the nation.”

He was speaking on the occasion of the start of the Hindu new year and also the birth anniversary of RSS founder KB Hedgewar.
