NEW DELHI: Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani is headed to the Bahamas to attend a Commonwealth Education Ministers' meet where she is to address the main plenary session.

During the meet, which starts today, a session on 'Quality Education for Equitable Development: Performance, Paths and Productivity' will be presented by the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Among the other events that have been lined up are a ministerial roundtable on enhancing the performance of teachers, ICT Integration in education systems and across sectors, quality in education, and post-2015 goals for education.

On the last day of the session on June 26 a Bahamas Communique will be issued.

Irani is being accompanied by UGC chairman Ved Prakash, Chairman of the National Institute of Open Schooling, Chandra Bhushan Sharma, and senior ministry officials.
