Security forces have arrested six suspected members of the Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh group in Chirang district of lower Assam.

GUWAHATI: Security forces have arrested six suspected members of the Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh group in Chirang district of lower Assam.

"Those arrested are trained cadres of JMB and have received training in handling arms," Inspector General of Police, LR Bishnoi, told ET on Friday.

Police said they were apprehended by the Central Reserve Police under Amguri police station.

The arrested include Noor Mahammad, Malek Sekh, Mostafa Mandal, Hafijur Ali, Saleman Ali and Mofijul Islam, police said, adding that two hand-made rifles and two pistols were recovered from them.
