Six Sri Lankan fishermen held for straying into Indian waters

Personnel onboard a coast guard patrol vessel found the six fishing in Indian waters off Nagapattinam coast and detained them, Fisheries Joint Director Subburaj said.

NAGAPATTINAM (TAMIL NADU): Six Sri Lankan fishermen were today arrested by Coast Guard personnel for allegedly fishing in Indian territorial waters off this town.

Personnel onboard a coast guard patrol vessel found the six fishing in Indian waters off Nagapattinam coast and detained them, Fisheries Joint Director Subburaj said.

They would be brought here and produced before a court for remand, the official added.
