Singh may go home this week
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh���s day started with breakfast with his wife and daughters in his room at AIIMS where he is recuperating after his coronary by-pass surgery.
Since the prime minister has been making ���excellent progress���, doctors attending on him have decided to wean him off the ICU care. He will be getting routine care from Wednesday and could return home this week.
���Seeing the prime minister's recovery, we have decided to withdraw the ICU status of his room,��� Dr K S Reddy, the PM's personal physician told the media. The room where the 76-year-old prime minister is recovering after the operation had been upgraded to an intensive care unit with installation of sophisticated monitoring equipment.
���The prime minister is steadily making progress in his post operative period. Dr Singh walked around in his room today and his diet now includes regular meal,��� the prime minister���s health update on Tuesday night said. Mr Reddy said Mr Singh has been given solid food and only family members were being allowed to meet him.
