'Sindoor ka sauda hota raha': Congress leader Pawan Khera slams EAM Jaishankar, PM Modi

Congress leader Pawan Khera on Monday raised concerns over the government's handling of national security issues. He accused the government of pre-informing Pakistan about Operation Sindoor. "Sindoor ka sauda hota raha, PM Modi chup rahe..," said Khera claiming that India had informed Pakistan before conducting strikes on terrorist sites. He mentioned the act as a "grave error of judgment."

"If he (S Jaishankar) had not forewarned Pakistan, could terrorists like Azhar Masood and Hafiz Sayeed have escaped?" asked Khera. He referred to Rahul Gandhi's recent X posts questioning the statement allegedly made by External Affairs Minister, Jaishankar

He added, "It is important to know how many planes were lost, what damage the country suffered, and how many terrorists escaped. The citizens have the right to know."


Khera also mentioned the claims made by US President Donald Trump to be the mediator between India and Pakistan for the ceasefire agreement and prevention of war. He allegedly threatened to stop trade with India if the conflict continued. Khera described Trump's remarks as "very dangerous."

He alleged the BJP government's close ties with the US and China, accusing Modi and Jaishankar of shielding these countries in many situations, without considering the impact on India. "What secrets are Modi, Jaishankar, and other BJP ministers hiding with America and China? Why must the nation suffer because of these undisclosed agendas?" Khera asked.

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that happened on April 22 leaving 26 civilians dead. The Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in regions of Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a part of the operation. The government has claimed that the operation eliminated over 100 terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

After the operation, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling in civil areas and attempted drone attacks. In further response, India launched airstrikes damaging an air defence base of Pakistan. Both the countries agreed upon ceasefire on May 10.
