Sikkim House backs Gorkhaland

The Sikkim House passed a resolution supporting formation of Gorkhaland, lending legitimacy to a movement that has thrived on the volatile mix of bandhs and blockades. The resolution, moved in the House by CM Pawan Chamling, was a "token of thanks" to the GJM for keeping NH 31A open during bandhs and a message to Bengal that it hadn't shown interest in preserving Sikkim's lifeline.
