Sidhu's wife joins Congress, hints at husband's entry soon

NEW DELHI: Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife and BJP MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu and former Olympian and Akali Dal MLA Pargat Singh on Monday joined the Congress party in the presence of PCC chief Captain Amarinder Singh at AICC office , “Hum do shareer ek aatma hai, fir ek durse ke bina kab tak reh paenge? (We are two bodies one soul how can we live separately)”, Navjot Kaur said hinting at her husband too joining Congress. Amarinder said he is scheduled to have a meeting with Sidhu soon.

Amarinder also alleged the recent jail break in Punjab was ‘facilitated by the Akali Dal government as part of its pre-poll polarisation attempt.

While demanding a CBI inquiry, not an investigation by the Punjab Police, into the incident, Singh has also said he has written a letter to the Union Home Minister demanding sacking of the Badal government.

While Navjot Kaur and Pargat singh are slated to contest the Assembly polls on Congress tickets, Sidhu is expected to campaign for the party.
