BENGALURU: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has appealed to Congress workers, friends and fans not to celebrate his birthday on Friday.

His eldest son Rakesh Siddaramaiah died at a Belgium hospital on July 30. In a message, he said his family members are yet to recover from the shock and grief brought upon by the loss of his eldest son.

The Chief Minister said he was not willing to accept bouquets or birthday wishes on his brithday. He said he believed all his friends and workers would understand the state of his mind, and respond to his appeal.
