Show same force in crushing anti-India terror, says Krishna
India, which de-linked composite dialogue from action on terrorism, on Thursday appeared to be returning to the pre-Sharm el-Sheikh stance.
Questioning Pakistans sincerity to address Indias concern, external affairs minister S M Krishna said Pakistan should show the same force that it displays in fighting the Taliban in the Swat valley while tackling anti-India terror.
Pakistan has taken certain steps like fighting the Taliban in the Swat valley, Mr Krishna told journalists accompanying him to the Asean Regional Forum meeting at Phuket. We expect Pakistan to go after the terrorists, who are targeting India, with the same force, the external affairs minister said.
On Jamaat-ud-Daawa chief Hafeez Saeed, suspected to be the mastermind of the November 26 Mumbai terrorist attacks, Mr Krishna said Pakistani authorities had made an appeal in court against his recent release. The law should take its course, he said.
Incidentally, the only assurance that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh got from his Pakistani counterpart at Sharm el-Sheikh was a promise to persuade the Punjab government to appeal against Hafeezs release.
