Show political maturity: Moderate Hurriyat to India, Pakistan
The moderate Hurriyat Conference today asked the leadership of both India and Pakistan to two show maturity.
"The tense atmosphere and bitterness in the relations between India and Pakistan cannot be in the interest of the people of two countries.
"The leadership of both the countries need to show political maturity and boldness and move forward in finding solutions to all outstanding issues," the amlagam said in a statement after a meeting of its Executive Council here.
The meeting, chaired by moderate Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, expressed serious concern over the recent flare-up along the Line of Control (LoC), it said.
"The two countries should demonstrate farsightedness and understanding of issues and initiate a meaningful and result-oriented dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues including Kashmir," the statement said.
Turning to the media, the Hurriyat said "instead of helping in improving relations between the two countries and strengthening the peace process, a section of the media is using provocative stance which is neither in the intrest of India nor Pakistan."
