Shot fired at local TV channel office in Jammu

JAMMU: Office of a local channel, run by a member of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council (MLC), was attacked by unidentified persons in Channi Himat area here, police said today.

The incident occurred around 9 pm yesterday when some scooter-borne persons fired one shot at Take-I channel office, they said, adding that the bullet damaged a windowpane. No one was hurt.

Senior police officers, including IG Jammu K Rajendra Kumar, rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation, police said.

Demanding a detail probe into the incident, Chairman of Take-I channel and MLC Devinder Rana said, "We will not get cowed down by such an incident and it will not deter us from discharging our duty fearlessly in future as well."
