NEW DELHI: With pressure of urbanisation on housing, the Government today said the Delhi Master Plan 2021 has indicated a shortage of about 24 lakh dwelling units in the national capital by the end of the next decade.

"This is a very large target to be met. We have set an initial target of one lakh houses to be built by the Delhi Development Authority for the economically weaker sections ( EWS). We hope to meet the gap in the 12th Plan period by redevelopment of the existing housing stocks, development of new housing stocks and fresh constructions," Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath informed Lok Sabha during Question Hour.
