CHANDIGARH: A farmer allegedly hurled a shoe at Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda during an official function at Dabwali in state's Sirsa district today but it fell short of the target.

Hooda was addressing a gathering at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a railway over-bridge when Raja Ram, aged 45, allegedly tossed the footwear at him, police said.

The shoe landed near the stage, they said adding Ram, a resident of Nathusari village in Sirsa, had been taken into custody.

Recently, a youth had allegedly slapped Hooda during a roadshow at Panipat.
