Shivram Krishna panel meets Venkaiah Naidu
NEW DELHI: The Shivram Krishna Committee for recommending a new capital city for the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh today called on Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu here.

The Committee made a presentation to the minister to brief him about the outcome of studies they have made till now and also to discuss his views about the prospective capital for the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh.

It explained to the minister that any new capital will require massive transportation network like roads, BRTS, metro rail network within the city and link road to other parts of the state.

The committee urged the minister to ensure all round support not only from Urban Development Ministry, but also from other ministries like Railways, Surface Transport, Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Naidu told the panel that all provisions in the Act and promises made by the then Prime Minister on the floor of Parliament would be kept in mind.
