In the run-up to the assembly elections, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government has loosened the purse strings for schemes targeted at women, youth and poor sections of the society. In the recent BJP state working committee meeting, Chouhan said that apart from what has been launched, he will announce more in the coming months.

From June 1, registration will start for CM Skill Apprenticeship scheme for the youth between 18 years and 29 years. Under the program, the youth will be given training along with a monthly stipend of up to '10,000. Registrations are already going on for Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Scheme under which '1,000 per month will be given to the women. The total budget for the scheme is '8,000 crore for the current year.

The state government is going to distribute saris, sandals, shoes, umbrella, and water bottle to 15.24 lakh Tendu leave collectors in the state.


Similarly, Chouhan, who is seeking a fifth term in office, has already launched a campaign for farmers' interest waiver.
