Adityanath noted that Shivaji's message to respond to others in a language they understand is still relevant, and added that Shivaji's coronation was conducted by a priest from Kashi and a poet from Kanpur.
Praising Indian government's decision to to adopt Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's symbol for the Indian Navy, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that Indians cannot have any connection with the Mughals.

The UP chief minister made the remarks at a programme here to mark the 350th anniversary of the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Yogi said a museum in memory of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was built in Agra when the Samajwadi Party was in power while his government is building a museum for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the same district.


Claiming that an Indian cannot have a connection with Mughal invaders, he said this is why, the Narendra Modi government has adopted Shivaji Maharaj's symbol for the Indian Navy.

Yogi highlighted the significant influences in Shivaji's life, including his mother Jijabai and mentor Samarth Guru Ramdas. He credited Guru Ramdas for guiding Shivaji to challenge the Mughal rulers and challenge foreign rule. Shivaji's message to respond to others in a language they understand was also emphasized by the Chief Minister.

Drawing connections to Uttar Pradesh, Yogi pointed out that Shivaji's coronation was conducted by Ganga Bhatt, a priest from Kashi, and the poet Bhushan, who hailed from Kanpur, composed poetry praising Shivaji's valor.

Yogi Adityanath remarked on India's vast and culturally rich history, mentioning that the current map only represents its political landscape, while the country's scriptures reflect a much older and culturally diverse India.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including UP minister Dharmapal Singh, former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarkaryavah Suresh Joshi, and founder of Divya Seva Mission Ashish Gautam, among others.
