Shiv Sena leaders take stock of situation in drought-affected areas
THANE: Shiv Sena leaders are taking stock of situation in drought-affected regions in Marathwada area of Maharashtra, a senior Sena leader said today.

All MLAs, Ministers and leaders of the Sena have been since the last couple of days touring various places in Marathwada and taking stock of the situation in drought- affected areas, Sena MP from here Rajan Vichare said at a function tonight.

They are studying measures to be undertaken for helping the affected persons, he said after flagging off the Latur Express here.

The train connecting Mumbai-Latur will halt at Thane.

Vichare said party president Uddhav Thackeray would visit Marathwada wherein he would hold meeting with the Sena leaders and discuss the measures to be undertaken.

The Sena leader also said an elevator at the Thane railway station will be inaugurated next Saturday.

Work on two escalators at Thane and Bhayander railway stations would start soon. The plans for extended Thane railway station was in process and a decision would be taken within couple of months in this regard, he assured.

The MP further said to save the distance and time of those travelling from Kalyan and Dombivili towards Panvel, the work of constructing elevated tracks would be undertaken in Kalwa very soon.

Divisional Railway Manager Amitabh Oza was present on the occasion.
