JAMMU: Giving boost to BJP ahead of the final phase of the Assembly polls, the Shiromani Akali Dal has decided to extended "unconditional support" to the party in the elections and appealed to the Sikh community to vote for candidates of the saffron party, the SAD here said today.

"The Shiromani Akali Dal has decided to offer unconditional support to the BJP in the ongoing assembly elections in the state," state chief of SAD, Mohinder Singh told reporters.

He appealed the members of the Sikh community to unite and vote for BJP to ensure the victory of party candidates in the ongoing assembly elections.

"The members of the Sikh community must unite and vote for BJP to end the prevailing corruption in the system which congress encouraged," Singh said.

He claimed that BJP was the only party that would ensure a corruption-free government in the state.

Surinder Singh Wazir, state secretary of SAD said, "During Lok Sabha elections we offered support to BJP to ensure that the party emerges victorious, and now we are again offering support to them."

The 20 Assembly seats spread across Jammu region are scheduled to go to the polls in the fifth phase of the elections to be held on December 20.
