The Maharashtra government has said that it would present a white paper on the number of projects and investments that have come to the state in the last few years following flak from the opposition on the number of industries leaving the state, especially to states like Gujarat.

Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant on Tuesday claimed that the state government would present a white paper within a month on the investments in the state. The move is being seen as an attempt to get back at Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray who has claimed that the Maharashtra government is not capable of getting investments to the state after the Vedanta-Foxconn and the Tata Airbus projects, which were considering investing in Maharashtra, went to Gujarat.

"We will bring out a white paper on these projects like Vedanta-Foxconn, Tata Airbus and Saffran engine maker which has gone to Hyderabad. We would give details of the government notes with these companies, whether there were any cabinet subcommittee meetings and what incentives were offered to these companies in the last few months," Samant said on Tuesday. "We would be looking at the Davos trip -- how much was spent on the trip and how much investments the state got from it," said Samant referring to the visits of the then Environment and Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray and Industries Minister Subhash Desai to Davos.
