Shibu Soren all set to become CM of Jharkhand: Lalu

RJD president Lalu Prasad on Sunday said Soren had almost become the chief minister of the state.

PATNA: Undeterred by the statement of caretaker Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda that he and five independents would not support JMM president Shibu Soren to form a new government, RJD president Lalu Prasad on Sunday said Soren had almost become the chief minister of the state.

All the five Independent MLAs about whom Koda was talking about were in constant touch with him and had expressed solidarity with Soren, Prasad told reporters here.

"Soren will take an oath as the chief minister of Jharkhand and I will ensure it," he said.

Asked if he would go to Ranchi to solicit the support of five independents, Prasad said, "if required I shall go to Ranchi to ensure that Shibu Soren takes oath as chief minister of Jharkhand.
